I am a cognitive researcher interested in lifespan development. I study how attention is controlled in and adapted to a constantly changing environment.

I teach Developmental Sciences and Methods at the Department of Experimental Psychology, Oxford. I am also a lecturer at Jesus College & St Hugh's College, Oxford.

I am a Junior Research Fellow at Wolfson College and affiliated with the Brain and Cognition Lab. I use behavioural and physiological methods in my work.

Ongoing projects and collaborations

Attention and temporal expectations

I am affiliated with the Brain and Cognition Lab (University of Oxford), led by Professor Kia Nobre. We study how anticipation shapes the way we control visual attention and store information in working memory.

Attention development through the lifespan

Together with Professor Gaia Scerif (University of Oxford), we explore the developmental trajectories of attention and cognitive control in childhood.

Cognitive Neuropsychology

Working with Professor Nele Demeyere (University of Oxford), we develop new ways of understanding cognitive deficits among stroke survivors.

Rhythmic structures and visual cognition

I collaborate with Professor Ayelet Landau (The Hebrew University of Jerusalem). We study how task-embedded temporal structures influence perception. This project is supported by Joy Ventures and the Academy of Medical Sciences, UK.

Ageing and Cognitive Decline

Working with Doctor Magdalena Chechlacz (University of Birmingham), we investigate the factors which determine cognitive decline and reserve in older age.

Improving Sustained Attention

I co-supervise a research student (Malin Karstens) together with Professor Roi Cohen-Kadosh (University of Surrey) and Masud Husain (University of Oxford). We study sustained attention and its links to mind-wandering. We explore ways to improve performance using brain stimulation.
